Quickie about the new Transformers movie!

So here are some of my thoughts after watching Transformers: Age of Extinctions:

1. Oh Michael Bay, you did it again!
2. Those scenes - panoramic view of a wide open space against the orange, sunset sky and killer soundtrack.. seen them in past Transformers movies, see it again here. I'm pleased to see those!
3. Mark Wahlberg was born for this role - he's just perfect in here!
4. Those Autobots!
5. OMG, the cars!
6. Love, and I mean LOVE the slow-motion scenes during intense battle action! It's signature Transfomers too to capture the transforming action and fighting scenes in slow-mo! It's just soooo cool, I'm a complete sucker!
7. Oh, I wish the Dinobots had more scenes in the movie, because they are badass!
8. Bumblebee is still so cute and endearing as ever.
9. Some parts in the middle are kinda draggy and the story isn't the best overall.
10. But then again, I'm still thoroughly entertained by this movie! So much explosions, so much adrenaline, I expected nothing less!

Here is a picture of me being all fangirl in front of the 3D movie poster!

So my verdict? Well if you love Transformers for the same reason I do: for the action, you will definitely love this too! I'm not very familiar with the characters, so I can't really make any critics - you have to ask my boyfriend on that. And trust me, he has A LOT of comments about the loop holes in the movie, but if you ask me, I wasn't thinking of any loop holes because I was too busy being excited to see Optimus Prime save the day once more!

Movie Day Sunday & Happiness Project - Day 49-50

Sunday is really a day to relax and unwind. And today I had the most awesome movie marathon with some DVDs I rented from the video store. In the afternoon, I saw "Everybody's Fine" starring Robert DeNiro, Kate Beckinsale and Drew Barrymore. Let me just say first that I love drama, especially those about family. "Meet The Parents", "The Family Stone", and "Click" are just some on-top-of-my-head examples of the family movies I enjoyed tremendously. I mean, I guess it's something that we can really relate to, 'cos everyone has a family, right? It's also always just very heartwarming and makes you feel either really good, or really sad.

You can't go wrong with a cast like this, really. Robert DeNiro, just like Dustin Hoffman, I think, always make great father figures in movies. They are very believable and all the while the movie was playing, I couldn't help thinking of my own dad and how much the character reminded me of him. The movie had some really sad and heartfelt scenes, and at the risk of sounding like a crybaby, I did sob my eyeballs out a few times.

It's about a father with four grown-up children who lives at different parts of the US. He recently lost his wife, so he lives alone now and at one weekend, he's trying to gather all four of his kids to his house for a meal. But they all cancelled at the last minute, so he decided to pay each one a surprise visit despite his health condition. Along the way, he discovered that his children aren't as happy as he thought they are, in terms of marriage or career. Everyone keeps acting as if everything is fine because they don't want to worry or disappoint him. But all he wants is just for his kids to be honest with him, and for them to be able to talk to him like they did with their mother. In the end, something terrible happened that brought them together as a family.

You know, I'm not a story teller for a reason. I'm crappy at explaining things! I can't do it enough justice, so go ahead and see it for yourself. To me, it's really good.

In the evening, I saw "Fantastic Mr. Fox". Wow, I'm really impressed with the quirky and unusual animation, and it's a really funny and entertaining movie. When it showed in the cinema, I wasn't that much interested to see it because, I don't know, I've seen the trailer and it didn't really show me anything interesting, except for the animation. I had no idea what the story was all about. I guess it's the same as "Up", though? You can't tell a single thing from the trailer but the movie turns out to be so brilliant.

I probably shouldn't judge a book by its cover from now on! Speaking of George Clooney, I have yet to see "Up in the Air", and I really, really want to see that! Did you guys see any good movies this weekend? I wanna hear about it.

Alright, it's almost 11 pm now and I'm gonna read "Juliet, Naked" for a bit before going to bed. Another week of work ahead!

If you are still breathing maybe it is not such a bad day after all.

I am one of those who never knows the direction of my journey until I have almost arrived.

I'm actually quite impressed, although it's still not as good as the one I have back in Indo, it's quite authentic and delicious!
4. "Baby Let Me Sing You A Song" really cheers me up at night! What do you think of it as my wedding song, people?

Take me to Boston. ;)

Happiness Project - Day 33

1. Filling in media role today for work 'cos the media person just left the company. I was much busier, but if I have to take the positive, at least time passed faster that way!
2. Had nice catch-up dinner with Jeremy. I haven't seen him in a few months! So it was great seeing him again, we should do our usual tiger-session next time.
3. It's the Idol finale tonight, and the show was packed up with great performances! It was more of a tribute to Simon than the actual finale show. But the montages they put of Simon were so funny!
4. Congratulations, Lee!

5. It's Thursday night! It's the long weekend! I can't be happier!

Happiness Project - Day 28-30

22 May 2010

1. Came back from work on time and took a ride from my dear colleague from office to home, which means I saved about an hour of otherwise commuting time by train!

2. Went for BBQ at Sophia’s place and enjoyed good food with good company. Thanks, babe!

3. I invited Wazzy for the BBQ and I finally met up with her after a long time! It was really great catching up and hanging out with her again.

4. Went back quite late and ended up skype-ing with a friend of mine. Went to sleep happy, and even happier that the next day would be Sunday!

23 May 2010

1. Went to the airport to pick up our favorite aunt and uncle and had nice lunch beforehand at a new place at terminal 2 which we’ve never tried before!

2. We came back home and had great talk with our aunt and uncle while watching rerun of Idol. Once again stroke by the gorgeous sight of sparkly-eyed Lee!

3. Had an awesome dinner at Shokudo! We ordered so much from the Caesar salad to sushi to omelets to teriyaki to sukiyaki and man, it was sumptuous!

It has been a great weekend, albeit too short!

24 May 2010

1. It's a new week! I'm keeping my spirit high for this short week of work!

2. Enjoyed a nice dinner with my aunt and uncle, sis and cous. Family time is just priceless.

3. Lil' sis is coming home today, and I'm excited for this week to end!

Happiness Project - Day 14 & 15

It's the weekend! The things that made me happy:

1. My amazing skyline poster is finally up!

I'm so in love with it. :)

2. Cous cooked this really nice soup (with potato, pasta, macaroni, carrot, chicken, sausages,.. drooling yet?) for dinner.

3. Went for movie with a friend and saw Iron Man 2. It's really good! To be honest, I still like Kick Ass better, but Iron Man is definitely entertaining, plus Robert Downey Jr is just really, really, really cool in there.

4. Had a nice talk and a cocktail or two at Tapas Tree afterwards. We walked all the way from Marina Square to Clarke Quay! To me, that was a personal achievement. Definitely made for the record book. ;)

5. Watched the second season of Survivor on youtube while having lunch this afternoon, which was a total pleasure. Food and television are such understatement pleasures in life.

6. Went for a shopping spree at City Hall with Sis! We wanted to look for nice swimsuits and beach wear for our Bintan getaway next weekend, but of course, we ended up buying totally different things. Sis got a jacket and a dress, I got a top, casual dress and shoes. Totally no beach wear and definitely no swimsuits. Nevertheless, I'm happy! Shopping does that to people.

7. We had this really fantastic Japanese food dinner at this fancy restaurant in Suntec. Tried many kinds of yakitori, salad, beef steak, and others. Man, that was a good dinner!

8. Came across this song, 'Something Good Can Work' by Two Door Cinema Club and now it's stuck in my head and it's making me happy!

You can turn off the sun, but I'm still gonna shine.

I know what I did last night =)

Hi all! I wanna blog about the great day we had yesterday at East Coast! Anyway, we were all in dire need of physical exercise. I've probably ballooned for a few more kgs ever since I started working and thus, stopped running and working out.

Not saying that a day in the beach last evening has made up for any of my extreme pigginess for the past 2 months, but hey, at least it was something. (you all must love me for my positiveness, right?)

Started the day by going out for lunch. We figured it wasn't wise to head over to the beach when it was scorching hot out. And it was hot like an oven. Forecast said it would be a sunny day, definitely a good day to spend cycling under the sun.

This was us on our way out to lunch. We did some grocery shopping too afterwards, and the supermarket was super packed! The queues for the cashiers were like the longest snake you could ever think of. Chinese people really do take their lunar new year seriously. I know we are chinese too by race, but I feel so out of touch with my roots that I almost feel like a traitor to the culture or something.

Both my sisters in purple.

At about 4ish pm and the sun looked a little kinder, we set out to East Coast! I was so excited because..well, I'm always happy with anything involving beach and the ocean. (I should be a Leo instead of a Capricorn, don't you think?)

I was slightly nervous though, because the last time I went cycling with friends, I failed...miserably. I haven't been on the bike for so long, and I thought I could easily pick up where I left off. There's a saying "it's just like riding a bike" for a reason, isn't it?

But long story short, I was on the bike for probably 5 seconds before I pointed it straight to the tree and I fell. It didn't hurt more than it embarrassed my soul. For the rest of the evening, I pathetically rode behind my friend in a tandem bike. What a total loser!

And so we arrived at the beach! The smell of the ocean excited me, I was back to being 14 years old in the presence of such beauty. I was singing along until this came!

The bike that once defeated me. Now it was time for my redemption! Revenge! I must conquer this bike and I wouldn't stop otherwise! My little sister, Meli, was learning how to ride a bike there too, because apparently to my surprise, she didn't know how to.

My cousin was patiently teaching her while I was circling around in my bike too to test the water. I started out shaky and my hands were trembling, making the bike unstable. But I finally got the hang of it, and after a while, it was no problemo! Wooooo, so happy!

After the warm-up, off we went to cycle away! Loads of people were there, building camps and tents, having BBQs, walking their dogs, jogging, playing skateboards and merely just sitting around to enjoy the scenery. It was truly an idyllic evening. I was over the moon!

At the pier, the furthest our bikes could go. We went cycling for two hours, and as you could see, we had sweat all over our faces.

"We did it!"

It has been an awesome evening, but then we were hungry! Off we went to this place my colleague recommended once. The place was in the middle of nowhere, but it had famous spicy chicken wings in various levels. My colleague said she tried level 5 and nearly died. She said she had flashes.

Anyway, we ended up trying level 3 and 4 and if we weren't already full, we would have tried the next few levels, because level 4 was still okay for us. But we ordered pizza as well, and we were stuffed! Next time we definitely wanna try level 5 onwards.

I loved the bar though, it had that homey, intimate feel to it. And it was funny when I ordered a beer, the waiter came back to me and asked about my age, rather shyly. I answered, "23" and asked, "how old do you think I am?" He laughed before saying, "16..."

I didn't know if it was a compliment or not, but really, it's one thing to look young, it's quite another to look underage! I was almost insulted! But then I took a sip of that Hoegaarden and I was content. Ha!

Now a full and happy bunch.

What a Saturday! If only everyday could be spent like this. :)

Weekend in pictures

Weekend is a major family time here in my household. So if you're interested in being a part of this family, you ought to empty your calendar every Saturday and/or Sunday. Weehee.

Personally, I'm loving this tradition because all of us are doing our own things during the weekdays and sometimes we don't really have enough quality time to spend together. And that's why weekends are important for us to let loose, catch up and have fun. Do things we love doing, whatever weird they may be, like playing charade in the train, challenging each other scrabbles, and other "more-normal" activities like watching movies, exploring town and finding new places to indulge in our love for good ol' food.

Whereas they may be a conflict of interest with friends over which movie to watch, it almost never happens with my sisters and I, because we have exactly the same taste in film. Okay, not 'exactly', but roughly the same. They will never make me watch Paranormal Activity, or trick (and guilt-trip?) me into seeing something scary, because they hate that stuffs too. In short? We're always eager to see the same movies, and that's a lot of a helluva relief.

Last weekend we got to see both Evangelion 2.0 and A Christmas Carol, and both are really awesome.

Because we love our new Canon camera, these are the pictures taken from last weekend with the sisters!

You know, I can never say how lucky I am enough to have my sisters around.

What about you guys? Did you have a great weekend? I hope so. I'm heading home tomorrow morning for a week or two, so I don't think I'll be able to update this blog during that time. But I'll keep my tweets goin'! (There's a link in the sidebar, follow me!)

See you soon! Love you long time. =)

sissy?

I cried twice while watching Astroboy.

What, you think it's just another material for my next comedy routine? Cried during Astroboy?! Ha-ha, now that's funny. Astroboy, as in that cartoon, you asked? Well yeah, the one and only. Except that we call it animation now, instead of cartoon. It's more sophisticated that way.

But honestly, though. The movie was even better than my expectation, and I knew it was gonna be cute and all, but it being sad was definitely unexpected. Especially with that poster?! Did you see the poster?! It's not the kind of poster people would call, tear-jerking!

You can't argue that Astro is damn cute, though! But you should definitely check it out 'cos it's really good. Now we can just forget that I cried. That I'm a lame sissy. Not that you can forget that!

Anyway, since Sis bought a new impressive Canon camera, we've been experimenting and taking many fun pictures. Last weekend we brought along the portrait lens and snapped away these random shots..(or maybe not so random.)

I love the blurriness of the background.

Creating a scene in the train.

You are my baby love.

How's your weekend, guys? I went to the beach on Sunday, but that's for another entry. In the mean time, go check out Astroboy aka the tear-jerker!

weekend, humpday

How was your weekend, guys?

I certainly had the most wonderful time for many reasons. Over the moon for a few days last weekend. I'm gonna let you guess.

By the way, just something completely random, I just learned that 'humpday' literally means mid-week which is Wednesday. You know how there's this upcoming movie with that title? I've always thought it meant something rather kinky. You know, like one of those rather-vulgar film like Superbad or something. The poster certainly screams that. But my friend said in the straightest expression ever, "Yeah, that means Wednesday..." It took me a few seconds to process. Okay, so I learned a new word, I love that fact alone. But now I feel like a total dummy because he made it sound like everyone in the entire world knew about it but me.

Do you guys really always know humpday literally means the day in the middle of the week?! If so, why haven't I heard about that before? Okay, it's bugging me although it's not even that much of a big deal. Well...

Weekends : Big Ball of Awesomeness!

So I'm writing this at the library. Before you cast an impressed-glance at me, setting the record straight, no, I'm not studying and I'm not reading intelligent books. Not so impressed anymore, are you?

Well, I'm just fed up at being home so I went over here, simply because I like being in a library. It provides a real me-alone time, which otherwise I seldom have. Especially when you live with your sisters and cousin, not that I'm complaining. But still, sometimes you just wanna be alone, you know? And here, with the trickling water sound, the pure silence, and the endless choice of books, what more can you ask for?

Even though I'm just pretty much doing the same things I would do at home with a computer, (facebook? twitter? blogging?) still the ambience's all different. Anyway, don't blame me, I'm a geek.

So, I thought I'm just gonna write a bit about my weekend, which in short, is just a big pure ball of awesomeness. On Friday night, I met up with my high school friend who just moved in town to work for a couple glasses of Tiger. I met another friend after that for yet another couple glasses of Tiger, seriously, there's only so much beer you can take at one-go. That was slightly..excessive. But it was great, especially seeing an old high school friend whom I haven't seen in over four years.

The next day, I met up with another group of friends at the beach, and it's official! I wanna live by the sea! I totally love being near the water. Being at the beach itself was awesome, but catching up with friends was even better. We took loads of silly pictures and goofed around by playing frisbee and laughing at kids who got stuck in the middle of 'flying fox' ride. The weather was perfect, since it has been cloudy the whole day. It was cold and windy, but definitely better than scorching hot.

Towards late evening, we bid goodbye and my little sister and I went over to meet our older sis and cousin for sushi and tepanyakki dinner. Albeit tired from being outdoor the whole day, on our way home we still stopped by Chinese Garden to see the lantern-festival. The whole place was decorated by hundreds of colorful lanterns, and it was so crowded. I didn't know lantern festival is such a big deal, but hey, anything for anything worth celebrating.

On Sunday, all four of us ventured out to Bedok Reservoir to climb trees. Well, don't you know? Once every blue moon, we have desires to play Tarzan for a day. It's kinda our thing. We don't get enough actions in real life, I suppose. *chuckling* No, actually, my little sister and I were up for something new! My older sister and cousin have been Tarzans once before, so they're slightly more experienced up there in the trees.

Me? I just looked so awkward and out-of-place. It's not my habitat. But I tried, and I finished all obstacles! So I'm damn proud. Even though my whole body ached after that, I finally could scream that trademark-Tarzan's-yell with pride.

Auoooooauuuuauuuuauuu will never sound the same ever again.

Dinner at Bedok was awesome too. I found this really delicious chicken curry that's just super heavenly. It absolutely breaks my heart that I will have to go all the way cross-country to Bedok again just to have that curry.

I have loads of pictures from the weekend, and I'm gonna post them here in the next post!

I still need to write more! It's like, I'm losing all my creative juices these days. I just have a lot on my mind, it's hard to keep up the positivity and upbeat attitude all the time. Who wants to read about depressing stuffs, right?>But I miss all of you! =) Don't give up on me yet! And yeah, the drama-queen is back!

Saturday, Songs

I saw G.I Joe today. I have to admit I wasn't particularly interested about this movie when it first came out. I thought it would just be like one of those sci-fi action movies we've all seen before, far too many times than necessary. Products of relatively unknown group of people who tried too hard. I expected lousy story with mediocre action scenes.

On all accounts, now that I've seen the movie, it wasn't so bad at all, if you see it as just a movie, and not compare it to Transformers, which some of you may do so. In comparison, this film would fall short, but then again, in terms of CG and special effects, most movies would definitely fall short to Optimus Prime.

This aside, I found G.I Joe to be highly entertaining. It's action-packed right from the start to finish, kudos for that. So, go see it if you're a fan of sci-fi, action, or wait, Sienna Miller.

Week's Playlist

>Lady Gaga - Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say)
Her music never fails to get me in good mood instantly! Most of her songs are very catchy and easy on the ear. I always find myself sway from side to side whenever I hear this song, such an embarrassing scenario when I'm in public places. Must not sway, must not sway, I mentally bang my head.

>Kelly Clarkson - Already Gone
Don't you think she just gets raunchier and raunchier by time? Long gone were her days of 'Before Your Love'. I think that's just her appeal, having a slight hint of angst and rebeliousness in all her lyrics ever since 'Since U Been Gone.' This song is the newest and I love it, because it's a tune more vulnerable, yet strong and so very characteristically her.

>Kat DeLuna ft Elephant Man - Whine Up
This song's played so often at Attica, it totally grew on me. I like listening to it whenever I'm in the midst of getting ready because it pumps me for the night.

Yeah, that pretty much sums tonight, I had a great time! Hope you guys have a great weekend too. See you pretty soon.

Weekend in KL

I'm back to civilization from Kuala Lumpur over the weekend!

No, I'm kidding. KL was great! I had an awesome, albeit short time there. In fact, it feels just perfect, having another day will probably spoil the rotten ouf of the whole thing, 'cos two nights with a snoring man is still tolerable, but any longer, you may have to shoot me. I need my beauty sleep, period.

We stayed at Ancasa Hotel, which is very convenient 'cos Chinatown was just right around the corner, and you can always find cheap and good food over there. The place's constantly packed too with tourists and locals selling various stuffs from T-shirts and fake designer handbags. The amount was just overwhelming! We spent nights having beers or cups of coffee in the street, enjoying the noise and surroundings and people singing 'Country Roads'. It was pretty darn awesome.

Sometime, during the day, my dad or Laurie would crave a cup of coffee (the thing about travelling with caffeine-junkies), and we had to find a little coffee shop, conversed in funny Malay slangs (which I always found amusing, cos some Malay words sound funny to me) with the locals around, and I don't know, it's just more liberating talking to people when you're a tourist, for some reason, as if that gives us an excuse to be an annoying blabber-mouth.

And of course, I visited the Twin Tower. I never really see a big deal of the place, but it's just like, Merlion to Singapore, or well, what's the equivalent of that in Jakarta, I wonder? I'd say Monas? It's like, you gotta go there, otherwise you haven't really been there, you know? But well, I enjoyed it too, and the tower was rather majestic in my opinion, which was cool. (Man, I love it that I just used the word majestic.)

We went to a couple of shopping malls also, like the Times Square, Sungai Wang and Bukit Bintang. Saw the KL Tower from afar, and wandered around aimlessly through the city. Oh! I had a full body massage over there too, which was a complete bliss!

I've always been kinda skeptical about massaging shops like these, 'cos they seemed rather shady, and I heard lots of dogdy stories from people too. So my dad made sure we chose the 'legit-looking' shop, although it was also in the side of the street. It wasn't in the mall or hotel or anything; it was just this little stand and as we were passing though, the workers approached us with the brochures of the service. It was a scorching hot afternoon, and I was like, 'man, a massage right now will just be amazing,' So I went in and had an hour of complete zen.

It seems like I was the only female customer in there though, which was...well, interesting. They asked if I wanted a male or female massaeur, what do you reckon?!

One thing I love about taking trips is also the fact that I got to stay in a hotel. It's not that this experience is particularly exciting in itself, but I don't know, I just love hotels. I love hotel rooms and I love the breakfast every morning. Hotel breakfast is one of the best thing in life, and also totally underrated.

There's a downside of KL too. Well, it's maybe not a downside, it's just a fact. Every country's different, right? Their taxis, for example. Although it's clearly written 'metre-taxi' in big bold capital letters on the side of the cars, no taxi in KL operates with metre-system. You had to bargain your price, well, they demaded the price is more likely. I have a feeling we were ripped off everytime we took a cab. It's annoying but that's the way it is.

But I have no complaints for the rest of the trip. It was fun being with my dad, and seriously, it's like I turned into five years old again! I kept like, clinging on to him, hugging him and making jokes and it's like, what the hell is going on with me? Ha-ha. I love my dad.

Anyway, it's back to reality now, ah bugger. It has been an awesome weekend full of denials (ha!)

Long Weekend (or not)

Long weekend is here! One thing, though, I had class yesterday on a Saturday so technically I will only have 2 days off just like each and every week and I can't even call it long weekend, can I? But in the spirit of being up and pumping, I'd say, long weekend it is and I won't hear anything else! Nobody can ruin my good mood! Nope, not even a bad customer service or bad telephone connection!

Well, can I rephrase that?

Speaking of those two, and let me bitch about phone connection first, I don't know if this irritating crap only happens in connection between Singapore and China only or this always occurs on internation calls, period? It's so damn annoying 'cos I'm up on calls to China everyday and try not being able to hear anything from the other end when you're starting to get so serious or you're about to disclose an important life-changing information, or when you're simply about to crack a joke and the other person's reaction is always, "Huh? What?" Well, it beats the whole serious/life-altering/funny aspects of the whole conversation, right? And as much as I would love to repeat the whole damn thing, again, it won't sound the same as my first attempt cos the moment has passed (yes! there ARE some moments..)and you just end up getting pissed. Or, that is probably still better than getting disconnected in the middle of a conversation (a serious/life-altering/funny one). It's like, what the fuck, man?! Far too many times I just wanna strangle or beat the phone down to culp!

And don't get me started on bad customer service, because seriously it doesn't make a damn sense. Why work in service industry when you can't even give a decent service?! Isn't that the whole point of it all? To give service? And like I have said several times before, if you're not good with people, then grab a damn lab-jacket or something! Okay, for example, yesterday we (we being the people in the picture above plus two more guys from outer space) went to a shop to get pictures printed, and we needed it pretty urgently. They asked us to write in our name and contact number so one of us did. And then they told us to get back in ten minutes to collect the pictures. So we wandered around the mall and okay, that was already quite late (9.30ish is considered quite late for shops in mall), but ten minutes was all it took, right? So one of us went down after ten minutes or so and guess what??????

THE FUCKING SHOP HAS CLOSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well WHAT THE HELL DID WE WRITE IN OUR NAME AND CONTACT NUMBER FOR IF YOU COULDN'T EVEN GIVE US A CALL WHEN YOUR SHOP WAS ABOUT TO CLOSE AND YOU STILL GOT CUSTOMERS?!!

Sometimes I wonder if these people are for real. Human beings are supposed to have brains, right? Or common decency? Conscience, maybe? Well apparently not. Apparently somewhere in their makings, they forgot to put in that part. I don't know whom to blame, really, maybe it's just an unfortunate error, maybe it's the food they eat, or....I don't know, it just stopped functioning sometime around puberty?

Not being nasty, just saying like it is. You all should know I'm not known for being nasty. [Right? Right?] It's just stupidity in bimbotic proportion how it happened, really.

So, moving to a more pleasant topic. Yesterday I had dinner at Newton and it has been a while since I went there, but I enjoyed a heavenly spread of food: BBQ stingray, fried calamari, omelette with oysters, kang kong, yummm! It was so good especially the fish! So I was a happy girl last night! It doesn't take much to get me happy, does it? Just feed the girl, that's the solution!

Anyway, I know I haven't been writing here for at least a full week and I apologize for that. School has been kinda time-consuming, and I know the class is only like, three and a half hours everyday, but the topic just left me feeling drained afterwards so I end up taking afternoon naps after getting back from school on some days. It's an American history and politics class, and whereas the subject itself is interesting, it's tough and the lecturer is tough. You can tell that he expects a lot from his students and instead of him lowering his standard, we're the ones having to raise it a notch to match up his expectation. Everyday he would spend half the time lecturing us about the topics, from current political issue to basically everything else, and the other half showing us videos on american history. Watching the video is interesting because the history is presented visually rather than just verbally, but still, there are just so much to memorize and absorbed.

So keep your fingers crossed for me! :)

In the mean time, enjoy your long weekend and I'll catch you around!

This Unlikely Saturday

Thank goodness it's weekend. Just wanted to post what I've been doing this past week besides work. Um, wait. Let me think for a moment. I must have done something, right? Saw a movie, maybe? No. Had nice dinner at restaurant? Not really. Was out with friends, not colleagues? No. Oh shit, I am turning boring. All I wanna do after another day at work is just go home and sleep.

We are now cordially invited to a funeral. Let's all grief and mourn the loss of...my social life!

This morning, which is a Saturday, if I have to remind you, I have to yet wake up early again when the birds (and 3/4 of population) are still sleeping. Apparently someone despises us so much that we need to take our exam on a public holiday, sort of.

The school messed up again, and I had to lose more than half an hour to finish the exam. Dumbass. Not that it would make much difference, though. Staring at the blank paper for half an hour would do little to suddenly make that difference, but still. I'd like to think that I have the option. "I still have half an hour to go, but I really don't know the answers to all these.. oh well, I better just go," than "My time's up! Time's up! No time! No time! I haven't answered this question! And this! And this! No time already! No time already! What to do! Oh god!" Yep, something like that.

But after that, things significantly improved. Went for a make-up and photo sessions (wasn't as glamorous as it sounded, but exciting for sure, but it was more like doing a favor for another friend, will post up some pictures from it later), and tomorrow I'm planning to have indian buffet lunch and going to Sentosa afterwards, so it sounds like a plan. For now, though, I just wanna catch up with some sleep. Damn, man, I really am old.
