Lessons.

In recent years, I have learnt to appreciate genuine friends as they truly are. When we were younger, having a lot of friends was everything, don't you remember at how we used to measure one's popularity by seeing how many friends they have on Facebook? How vain can we be?

I come to treasure a few gems in my life who are not just convenient friends, or accidental friends, or even fake and superficial ones; but real, sincere and caring friends whom I know I can always turn to in times of need.

They may not be someone whom you meet every day or even every other week. But I think that's how you really know.

So let's cheer to our real friends whom are unaffected by life's circumstances.

Begin again.

Today marks an important day as one of my best friend just got married!

She looked as beautiful as she always does, and I'm reminded that I'm so grateful for this friendship and how happy I am for her. And of course, it brought everyone at the party to ask me the same question people have been asking me a lot lately.

When's my turn?

I don't know if I'm ready for marriage. Anyway, I'm just going to let it come naturally. Come what may, what's meant to happen will happen, all that yada yidi yada. Can I just be cheesy for now?

It's almost the end of 2013 and I can't wait to start the new year with brand new motivations, goals, perspectives and hopefully some wisdom that I've learnt from the mistakes I made. I know it's going to be good.

(And one of those goals is to post a picture every day next year. Let's see how it goes.)

Til next time, lovelies!

A Friend.

The most memorable people in life will be the friends who loved you even when you weren't very lovable.

The best.

It’s always great seeing your good friend after a long absence. My friendship with Wazzy has always been so natural that we don’t really need to see each other in a weekly basis or update each other all the time, yet it’s like we fall right into where we left off when we meet again.

It’s been a while since I met her the last time, and I genuinely miss her. Last night we talked about anything and everything under the sun, about our work life, our travel stories and plans and our respective friends over seafood aglio olios and yummy onion rings.

It’s almost surreal to think that it’s already some two years ago when we were both rocking the clubs almost every week. She has always been there for me when I met some random jerks yet again, and I've tried my best to be there for her during a scary stalkerish situation with her ex.

I love how we can look back and remember all the great memories we’ve had together, knowing that we are still creating many more of those along the way.

Best of Best.

A friend is one who knows you and loves you just the same.

Be my friend.

Don’t walk behind me; I may not lead. Don’t walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.

Ode to my oldest friend!

I'm back to civilization! Well okay, not that I've been gone to the jungle or anything, but I went to Batam for a few days to meet a friend of mine, and I had a really nice time! I've never been there before, and I imagined a hectic mess just like Jakarta, but it wasn't like that at all. In fact, it was so calm and relaxing. It's like being home without actually being home, you get what I mean?

Um, no? Oh well. Sorry. I'm not too good at being descriptive.

But I did some awesome shoppings (currency exchange FTW!) and most importantly, I got to catch up with my friend, who has been a friend since I was, what, 4? No, seriously. She and I were kindergarten friends, and we went to the same elementary school, where we got really close at one point for years. Our junior and senior high school were different, so we didn't get to see each other that much at all, and it was even worse during university because I moved to Singapore.

But well, Facebook got us back in touch again and it was incredibly nice of her to let me crash at her place, and she chaperoned me throughout my trip (read: kept me well-fed at all times) and it was so nice to know that we haven't changed much at all. We still get along great, and to think that she's probably my oldest friend ever, is just amazing!

Go hug a friend beside you now because I'm feeling mushy!

friends are what will matter in the end

We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each other everywhere. ♥ ♥

Give me one friend, just one, who meets the needs of all my varying moods.

Friends are what will matter in the end

True friends are people who think that you are a good egg even though they know that you are slightly cracked ♥

I really miss these girls.

Wednesday Night

Under the blazing neon lights...

We were shaking our heels and lipsyncing to Lady Gaga.

Friends are what will matter in the end.

"Talk is a pure art. Its only limits are the patience of listeners who, when they get tired, can always pay for their coffee or change it with a friendly waiter and walk out."

Here's to my very, very patient friend who's never abandoned me in the middle of my neverending ramblings. ♥
