Oh my god! So, I'm gonna share something a little creepy here. I was probably half hallucinating, half dreaming last night when it happened. I was in a lethargic state as I was so tired from the long weekend.
So I was in bed, and I kept tossing and turning for some reason. Although my body was tired, my brain couldn't shut down. I think some moment might have passed before I realized something. So my bed side was near the window, and at that point I was lying sideways facing the window. Do you know how you can still see something even though your eyes are closed?
I don't know, suddenly I just felt and saw a hectic movement of hand gestures as if someone was waving frantically at me. It's as if I saw it right in front of me without actually seeing it. It came from the window and it became unbearable not to notice because like I said, you can just feel it.
But as it happened, I realized that it couldn't be possible because I was in bed and there's no way someone was waving at me from outside the window! Before anything could register into my mind, impulsively I opened my eyes even though if I were smart enough, I should have just kept my eyes shut because who knows what I might find staring back at me?! OMG!
For that split second that I opened my eyes, I could have sworn I saw a hand throughout the window! Like it wanted to shake me and my whole body just jerked in fear! During that few seconds I was really, really afraid and I was convinced I just had my first encounter with ghost!
I turned my body to the other side so I wouldn't be facing the window anymore and lied there for a few seconds in cold sweat, shutting my eyes hard and reassuring myself it was just my imagination, dream, or both. Weirdly enough, after those few seconds of pure fear and shock, I was calm afterwards. I mean, you would think that I would have run away so fast and went to my dad's room like a little baby! But I just simply moved to the other way and continued laying there!
After another moment, nothing happened and I just kept my eyes shut! All the while I kept thinking, what the fuck just happened?! It felt surprisingly real! Yet everything was just so surreal!
Somehow though I managed to fall back to sleep and now it just felt like it was a strange dream. But it wasn't. I could still remember the deep shit fear I was feeling as I felt those hands waving in front of my face and that hand reaching out from the window!
What the f*** lah?!! That was really, really, really, really creepy, alright?!!

Confession
9:40 pm and I just got back from work. I'm bloody tired but somehow still feel like writing and telling you guys something. Partly because out of guilt because I've been neglecting this space for a while, and I do have conscience, you know.
Well, anyway, let's just begin by saying that my friends would probably mock me endlessly if they somehow find out about this. They will say 'I told you so' to my face and I won't have a smart response to shut them up. So I guess I'm losing.
You know how during the first few years of my stay here, I somehow always found myself in trouble with the Indians? I can recall uncountable times when Indians approached me in the most unlikely places (train, middle of the street, library, and so on.)
I was mostly alone in all these occasions which further terrified me even more, especially during my first year here. My friends found this amusing, though. They started teasing that I had what they called 'The Indian Curse'. Some even 'meaner' friends also came up with a hypothesis that perhaps I do share the same uhm, natural smell as them, and that smell was what attracted them to me.
My naive 19 years old-self almost believed this at one point, and was afraid to go out of the house. It was fine if these Indians just approached me to ask for the direction, goodness. But they came off borderline scary. One was following me around and tricked me into having lunch with him!
Okay, anyway that was a little background information. I'm happy to announce though, that lately the 'curse' seems to have left me, and once again I feel so safe! And then something happened.
I have a little crush on an Indian!
Yes, this is the time when my friends would laugh and mock me endlessly if only they were here. Thank goodness they weren't.
I don't even know this person, okay! The story is, I go on a bus to work at exactly the same time every morning because I have the bus schedule memorized already. It would always depart from that stop at exactly 9 am.
Well, this particular Indian gentleman seems to have memorized the same schedule as well, and thus, I almost always see him every morning boarding the same bus. Difference is just he alighted at a few stops after. Anyway, seriously, he looks so good in his formal wear, plus he's tall (which is my weak-point, aside from black-rimmed glasses).
Insert: WOW!
But of course I've never talked to the guy. I doubt he even noticed I was there! Maybe I should give him some obvious hints, but oh my gosh, never thought I could spot a good-looking Indian, especially since I've been kinda terrified at them for so long.
Okay, this is slightly embarrassing, isn't it? I guess I finally believe that saying 'never say never!' Bites me right in the arse.

RIP Old Mp3
So I'm deeply ashamed. Okay, let me tell you from the beginning.
I got my mp3 player around four years ago, give and take (I believe it was more than 4 years ago, but I'm not gonna talk statistics here.) and it's been working well for most of those times. Sure, there was a crack on it (little crack!) after I sort of dropped it on one occasion (one!), which means, well, it still worked, but I had to practically hold it together if I needed to pull out the USB port (to transfer songs from the computer) to prevent it from falling apart. But hey, aside from that, I had no complaints.
I thought it was impressive that despite the crack and the old age, essentially my mp3 player was still functioning well. I even patted myself on the back for being such a good owner. (Of course, the world revolves around me.)
But that's not exactly unjustifiable. My sister's phone recently died and she had to take it to the store to get it fixed, and she just had that phone for less than a year! Her previous phone wasn't that much luckier either. For some reason, they just couldn't last for so long, and I can proudly say that I've had very long-lasting phones in my record. So, well, I guess that pat on my back is somewhat appropriate and not at all self-centered?
Back to the mp3 story, though. Somehow during this past year, I hardly used it anymore for no particular reason. Well, I enjoy listening to music while I'm commuting back and forth to work, or to school, but since I graduated last year and I haven't exactly been working, I guess there wasn't much a point to use my mp3 to listen to music when I was mostly at home, and could easily just use the laptop. I also have gone back to my reading-frenzy mode recently so I was obsessed with reading on the train instead.
It could very may be, that my mp3 was spoiled because it hadn't been used in a long time. But now that I'm working again and my office is really bloody far, I'm in dire need for serious music again to keep me company through the long journey of commute (especially in the morning! I need upbeat songs to wake me up, really.) That, and the fact that my reading-frenzy mode has mellowed a bit.
So I dug around for my old mp3 player again, and got really encouraged that it still worked...for about a day. Today as I happily slipped the headphones to my ears, no music came out from the player, and it could not be turned on. I sat there, feeling defeated and dejected. I am ashamed because apparently I'm not as good as an owner as I thought before.
And if even that absolute fact is shaken, who knows, I may not be as charming and adorable as I thought so as well. *grim* Oh. Shucks.
So, I'm gonna get myself a new mp3 player! And this is so exciting because I just got my first salary and I can buy one on my own! Aren't you all proud of me? Little Tina is growing up indeed! Yeah, so hopefully by end of day tomorrow, I will have already gotten myself a brand new player to survive me another day of commuting to work!
Right now I'm swaying towards Sony Walkman mp3 player. Yeah, I'm excited!

23, and blessed.
I hope you don't mind that I post more quotes in this blog. I just love reading them! Nonetheless it will probably make me even lazier to post real entries, but I can't help it! Sharing these quotes with you makes me as happy as reading them myself. So I hope you like it too.
So, how's it going, folks? I'm really having a good time this weekend, spending the holiday with my family, and of course, enjoying the long weekend without work!
I probably haven't blogged about my birthday, which was pretty low-key if you ask me. I'm never big on birthdays, and there's a reason why I never really feel like throwing a party every year to celebrate the fact that I'm still blessed with another year on this earth. (So morbid!) But yeah, during high school, when most of my friends held their birthday parties in hotels and extravagant restaurants, I simply had a simple get-together with close friends. Last year, my friends paid a surprise visit to my room on the midnight of my birthday when I was already in bed, wearing embarrassing clothes with my hair sticking out in every direction. That's how much I really made effort for my own birthday.
This year was no difference. I woke up feeling ever the same; got ready for work and got an early birthday hugs and wishes from my sisters and cousin at home. My dad left me a present too, which was, a book on 'success'. Ah, bless him. But I went to work really early, and I felt strangely at ease and relieved that no one in the office would know what day it was.
But I was in for a surprise, because they did know. They got me, I didn't see it coming at all. We celebrated it with a cake, and despite me not liking surprises, I was really touched and pleased. Here they were, people I just got to know, and they made an effort for me. I am utterly grateful.
At night, we had another cake that my sister bought. It was a chocolate log cake, and we had a little celebration and took pictures, and once again I felt blessed for these people. Wishes from family and friends were good enough, I didn't need much else. I was happy, and appropriately so.
The fact that I am now 23 doesn't make much difference, aside from the realization that I'm not a child anymore and I should take things more seriously. But all in all, I am happy with my life, and with the people that are still in it. Thank you everyone, who has made me feel special and let that known.
Anyway, I should post some pictures from the occasion, but my cousin hasn't uploaded them to computer, so I'll do that soon. Well, I guess, I wanna say, that I may not be big on birthdays, but it's utterly nice to know that some people would go through troubles just to remind me that I should be; that maybe, it is something worth celebrating.

twisted dream
So if you follow me on Twitter, you must have heard about this really twisted dream I had last night. Yeah, last night, literally, so the memory's still all fresh and vivid, thank you very much.
Now, in the dream department, I have experienced some real weird, freaky shits, like once, I dreamed about a bomb explosion here in Orchard Road. I started thinking whether deep inside, I have this violence gene ready to burst out in the open, 'cos normally in real life I'm as harmless as a fly. Maybe it's a way to channel all my insides' anger and frustration. Or, maybe I'm just thinking tad too much. Stop it, dork.
But the dream I had last night certainly topped the twisted-dream list. To give you the shorter version, it involved me being pregnant with well, a child, duh. The father of the child happened to be an old high school friend of mine, which made it even freakier! But anyway, that's not the shocking bit. Anyway, I gave birth, right, yes, my stomach was sliced open and the baby was born, yada yidi yida, big deal. We returned home, and came back to the doctor somehow the next day, and I was told I was pregnant again. Literally, the very next day that I just shot the first child out of my womb.
I woke up and I was so, totally, utterly relieved that I was laying in my bed. Like, it's not even about how biologically impossible that is, but just the thought of being pregnant again absolutely shook me to pieces. So yeah, I guess I don't have to tell you how I feel about kids.
Ugh. Kids. That freaking dream scared the shit outta me.

Spotlight!
Have you ever been in a situation when you were put in a spotlight to tell a story you don't want to tell, because oh, well, it's either a)embarrassing, or b)not funny? So, there you are, having dinner, let's say, with a big group of friends, and then one of your friend says, "hey, tell them about this or that..", and you really don't wanna go into it, but everyone's watching you now and expecting an answer and you're put on the spot when you don't know what to say!
It's so awkward! It happened to me a while back, we were having drinks together with new people. New people, that's even worse! Hot new people, the worst! Well, thanks a lot, now I can snatch the record of ruining a good image of myself in under 5 minutes! Neutral, if not good, since we supposedly have just been introduced.
Anyway, I was sipping my drink innocently, so gullible and oblivious of what was gonna happen next. Suddenly, my friend said, "Tin, tell them about how you two met.." and everyone's eyes were on me. I wanted to curl up under a blanket and never come out, or dissapear off the face of the earth! I think at that time, I was muttering, "eh..." or I might have even attempted a slight change-of-subject-manuever (I was told I'm pretty good at it), but obviously I sucked. If I did try to change the subject, my friend must have persisted, "tell them!" until I had no choice. (Of course by being busted trying to change the topic got everyone to think there's a really juicy story, and now they wouldn't drop the matter!) By the time I finished the story, I think everyone kinda fell into a deafening silence, and the conversation gradually continued on a totally different topic. I was like, what the fuck, I totally didn't need to say anything back there! It was so unoriginal that it wasn't even worth a comment or a follow-up!
One thing about me is that, I don't like being put on the spot! I mean, I like attention and all, but nothing gets me more anxious than being surprised, or put under the spotlight unexpectedly! Part of why I don't like changes is because I'm an insane planner and I like to know what I'm dealing with in advance. So I guess that makes sense. Don't do that, please!
Similar thing happened just recently. We were having dinner too with new people! Why oh why! Well, and then one of my older friend suddenly said, "Tin, what happened to your then-boyfriend? Why did you two break up?"
Everyone was staring at me. Like, dammit, I don't want to discuss about my breakup during dinner in front of a new friend, lah! At one point even this new person said to me, "Tell me! I'm curious now..."
"Ah, nothing..." I think I could only say that weakly after a few seconds (which felt like eternity) of awkward silence. Suddenly my food looked very interesting that I could only manage to look down at it.
So embarrassing!!!!
